# Convert a visitor into a member

Promote a visitor who is now part of the congregation.

## What it is

When a visitor has joined the church, you can **promote them to a member**. This adds them to the members directory while keeping their information.

## Who can do it

**Pastor/a** and **Administrador/a**, or a **Líder** (Leader) assigned to the Visitors module.

## Steps

### Open the visitor

In **Visitantes** (Visitors), open the person's profile.

### Promote to member

Press **Promover a miembro** (Promote to member) and confirm with **Sí, promover** (Yes, promote).

When promoted, a **member** is created in the directory, but **without access to sign in**. If that person needs to enter the system, [grant them access](/user-guide-english/miembros/otorgar-acceso.md) afterward.
